Weich is a serie of events focused on ambient and experimental music and community building.

It focuses on creating and maintaining a space for exploration and collaboration across all mediums and genres. It encourages connexion, growth and honesty in all of the spaces and events.

Emphasise on femme, POC and LGBTQIA artists

As the name of the event series explains (Weich = β€˜soft’ in German), it is about softness or radical softness: melting down into the space onto comfortable carpets with soft and textured sounds. With relaxation of the senses (and the amygdala) at the forefront after 2 years of tensions and worries, WEICH creates a safe space in which to connect and let go simultaneously. WEICH events are immersive spaces with interaction between different sensory elements: sound, visuals, set design, performances, smells (parfum diffusion, plants), food...

Local artists of the growing ambient music scene in Berlin are encouraged to collaborate together, while exploring new directions and mediums.

The music explores different directions, created using instruments such as on modular synths, acoustic instruments, building soundscapes amidst, spoken word and broken beats. The artists involved are creating new textures, sometimes through improvised shows with different elements and effects that are unique to their practice.

Weich started at Kwia in November 2021 and is now moving locations across Berlin.
